Republic Bank Ltd.’s COVID-19 Response

The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) continues to reshape our micro and macro-economic landscape in both predictable and unpredictable ways. Republic Bank Ltd. is committed to acclimatizing to these rapid changes to ensure that our community can be responsibly and sustainably served throughout this pandemic.

Based on the learnings and recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), limiting the spread of COVID-19 through physical distancing and proper hygienic practices has become the global requisite. These recommendations are integral to ‘flattening the curve’, a phrase we’ve all no doubt become familiar with. We also encourage that everyone keep abreast of updates from the local authorities to ensure that all guidelines are understood and adhered to.

In keeping with those guidelines, Republic Bank’s number one priority is the safety of our staff, customers and all other stakeholders. While we strive to maintain a level of normalcy in our day-to-day business, we are cognizant of the volatility this virus has introduced into daily lives. By no means is this conventional. Our community comes first; it is our duty to create and uphold an environment that reflects as such. As we continually assess what needs our attention, we will update our COVID-19 page, so feel free to bookmark it for easy access.

Available Branches and Adjusted Hours

We’ve taken multiple steps within our branches to ensure the welfare of our community as detailed in our recent media statement. Of note are the measures in place to assist our elderly, disabled and public assistance clients, including that the first hour of each workday will be dedicated to them. Additionally, only certain branches remain open to the public, and they will operate with adjusted opening hours and facilities. If you have any general inquiries, you can use the contact information I’ve included below.

Banking Digitally

Our digital and electronic banking facilities will help limit the time spent in and the traffic in and out of our branches. If you’re not already registered, you can sign up here for RepublicOnline and RepublicMobile. Remember, our in-branch services have been reduced for everyone’s well-being. You can check what’s available to you here or contact the bank via phone or email for clarity.

Financial Customer Support

Given the economic disruption of COVID-19, we have implemented support measures to ease the many stresses for our personal and business clients. The ‘Support to Customers’ section of our update page details these measures including moratorium on loans, debt restructuring and temporary increases on credit card limits. We are happy to answer any additional questions via phone or email.

Contact Republic Bank

You can call the bank’s Corporate Center at 625-4411 (or your Home Branch at any number you’re accustomed using). Emails can be sent to email@rfhl.com.

On a Personal Note...

On a more personal note: we are all human. This pandemic is a traumatic experience that we are all processing in different ways. Being thrust into this new environment is scary and uncomfortable, and for many of us our support systems are now virtual. It is an understatement to say that this is a difficult adjustment to make. However, we are stronger apart in this instance as we collectively battle this virus.

There are many things that are equally as or much more important than conducting business. This isn’t the time to panic or hold ourselves to unattainable standards. My strongest advice is simple: be kind to yourselves. It may seem like an insurmountable situation but, as with all things, this too shall pass. Let’s all do our part to see that it does.
