Port of Spain, Trinidad, January 15, 2026 – Last Saturday, January 10, Zebapique Productions Junior Carnival Band welcomed the public to its mas camp as part of its 2026 Carnival presentation, “Down Memory Lane: 20 Years of Mas.” The open house brought together parents, junior masqueraders and key stakeholders to commemorate two significant milestones: 20 years of mas-making excellence and 10 years of partnership with Republic Bank through the Bank’s Power to Make a Difference (PMAD) programme.

Zebapique Productions Junior Carnival Band is widely recognised for its commitment to inclusivity and cultural preservation, creating opportunities for children from all backgrounds to experience Carnival in its most authentic form. Beyond playing mas, participants are immersed in the creative process, gaining hands-on exposure to costume design and mas production. Through access to materials, mentorship and structured guidance, the band empowers children to express themselves creatively while fostering pride in Trinidad and Tobago’s rich cultural heritage.

Commenting on the milestone, Nigel Baptiste, President and Managing Director of Republic Bank, said, “At Republic Bank, we believe in the power of partnerships to create a lasting, positive impact in our communities. Through our Power to Make a Difference programme, we are pleased to support Zebapique Productions Junior Carnival Band as it celebrates 20 years of mas and a decade of meaningful collaboration with us. This partnership reflects our commitment to empowering young people, nurturing creativity, and ensuring that our cultural traditions continue to thrive for generations to come.”

The partnership underscores a shared focus on youth development and cultural sustainability, reinforcing Republic Bank’s ongoing commitment to initiatives that deliver meaningful and lasting community impact.

The Power to Make a Difference programme is Republic Bank’s flagship corporate social responsibility initiative, focused on driving sustainable development through strategic partnerships in education, youth and community development, culture and sport. Through PMAD, Republic Bank continues to invest in initiatives that create meaningful, measurable and lasting impact across the communities it serves.
