Republic Cup National Youth Football League 2024 Kicks Off This Weekend!

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, February 23, 2024: The 2024 Republic Cup National Youth Football League is set to kick off this Saturday, February 24. One hundred and twenty-eight (128) junior football teams representing sixty-eight (68) clubs from throughout Trinidad and Tobago will vie to go from ‘Grassroots to Greatness’ by participating in the annual competition. The prestigious tournament, made possible through Republic Bank’s Power to Make a Difference corporate social responsibility programme, and held in partnership with the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) and Gateway Athletics, is the longest running youth football league in the country and the official National Youth League of the TTFA.

The tournament runs for 13 weeks, with the finals scheduled to occur on June 1. Games will take place in 5 divisions, East, North, South, Central and Tobago, at different grounds in each zone. The categories are Girls’ Under 20 as well as Boys’ Under 14, Under 16 and Under 20.

Each week, there will be a featured ‘Zone of the Week’ which places the spotlight on the junior footballers and teams competing in that particular geographic region. The opening weekend’s zone of the week is South, with matches taking place in all age categories at two locations; Plaisance Park and Guapo Recreation Ground. Games will be held on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 February, 2024 starting at 9:00am.
