NAAATT Republic Bank Relays Festival Sees Record Participation and Exciting Club Rivalry

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, May 22, 2026 -The National Association of Athletics Administrations of Trinidad and Tobago (NAAATT), in partnership with Republic Bank under its Power to Make a Difference programme, was pleased to host this year’s Republic Bank Relays Festival with a refreshed and exciting format that brought renewed energy to the local athletics community.

This year, the competition transitioned from the traditional zonal structure to a club- versus-club format, allowing clubs to compete directly against one another. The new approach proved to be a tremendous success, attracting more than 700 athletes from across Trinidad and Tobago and creating an atmosphere filled with excitement, unity, healthy rivalry, and strong crowd engagement.

The relay event continues to play an integral role in the development and success of athletics in Trinidad and Tobago, serving as a key platform for athletes to sharpen their teamwork, speed, and competitive spirit. The strong participation, energetic supporter presence, and increased crowd engagement this year highlighted the growing enthusiasm for relay competition and grassroots athletics development. NAAATT expressed sincere appreciation to Republic Bank for its continued commitment to youth and sport development through the Power to Make a Difference programme. This partnership has been instrumental in sustaining and growing the relay programme over the years, ensuring that athletes continue to benefit from high-quality competition opportunities.
