Jacqueline Quamina Joins Republic Bank’s Board

Port of Spain, Trinidad, February 8 2018: Jacqueline Quamina, former Executive Director of Republic Bank Limited (Republic Bank), and former Group General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Republic Bank and Republic Financial Holdings Limited has joined Republic Bank’s Board of Directors. The appointment took effect on February 1, 2018.

Ms. Quamina who retired on September 15, 2017, after a 20-year career at Republic Bank, will replace Mr. Ian Benjamin who resigned from the Republic Bank Board on January 31, 2018. She has wide experience in banking, finance and corporate law in the Caribbean, as well as in communications, governance and compliance. She is a Director on the Board of Republic Bank (Barbados) Limited and Unilever Caribbean Limited. She is also Chairman of The National Insurance Board and a past Director of the Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute. More recently, she participated in the Corporate Governance, Executive Education Programme at Stanford University, San Francisco and has completed the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Canada Director Education and Accreditation Programme and the Certificate in Corporate Governance at the Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute.

Ms. Quamina holds a Bachelor of Laws from The University of the West Indies (UWI) and was called to the Bar of England and Wales where she is a member of Gray’s Inn. She holds a Master of Arts from the University of London and an Executive MBA from the University of the West Indies, and is a graduate of the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking and the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Programme.
