Indices of consumer behaviour are used mainly in developed countries such as the United States of America to evaluate and predict consumer behaviour. The MFO-Republic Bank Limited (MFO/RBL) Consumer Confidence Index is the first index in Trinidad and Tobago to formally capture the level of consumer sentiment for the local economy. The index is based on a representative sample survey of 500 households and measures sentiment on key current and future economic conditions and consumer expenditure expectations. It is issued quarterly and may be used in conjunction with other data as a guide to expected trends in the economy. |
